hey all,
there's been a new game called the road to rage released by dragon aps
imo, its possibly as close as the blind community has gotten to mainstream shooters like call of duty or halo
the audio games forum topic can be found here
http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?id=8351
as a demo, this clip shows me playing multi player and getting owned more than I dish out, lol

side note, you'll notice that I'm a very trigger-happy person haha
anyways for people who try the game/listen to this, thoughts?

I've tried it. So far I think it has a lot of potential. I'm still trying to get used to it, and figure out all the commands.
I will say, I wish the voice was better. Mine appears to be self voicing, and that has always been slow for me. I have to wait almost a full second before I hear feedback from the voice. I think recorded voices would be better on that.
Also, I wish more of the keystrokes were written out. I heard a reference to there being a radar in the game, but I can't find it. I've tried all the normal keys, but got no radar.
a sounds list would be good too, though I can use the sound folder of the program file for that one in a pinch. Still, it would be good to know what sounds were what going in.
Also, I'd like there to be a weapons list. I keep having to hunt and peck for my guns. it was slow and got me killed a few times.
On a side note, it has a lot of guns I'm unfamiliar with. Either that or the voice is mispronouncing them. Are they real guns that I just don't know, or did you make them up?
Either way, I think its a great game. It needs some tweeking, but its good. I suggest it without hesitation.
Oh, and the volume could use some balancing. When you're running, the sound of your running drowns out pretty much everything else around you. If you add to that the environmental sounds, its almost impossible to hear an enemy.

Hi guys!
I also try the game already.
It was fun.
By the way the radar it was working quite great though.
Only the size of the map quite small.
So sometimes it was very difficult to avoid the bullet from the other party.
And the sound of the gun it was quite loud.
So when we wanna shoot someone by the detect of the radar voice quite difficult.
By the way you guys also can hit me there as well.
My name there it was also same here.
Best!

answering questions i can remember
the radar I'm not sure about
the guns its all keeping track of which gun is which number, then you're good
as for sounds, most of them are pretty easy to tell what they are
as for gun types, the mk14 is an assault rifle, the m60 machine gun, soss90 I have no idea, the doom 55 and 90 I don't know, the MG4 is anoter machine gun I think, the mp5 is a SMG and the ak47 is well, the ak47

Yeah, but some key commands on how to do those things would go a long way. There is a short read me file, but it doesn't say anything about radar or anything like that. Give us a keystroke list, and a gun list if we're going to have to memorize where guns are.

um, Im not the one who made the game....
and maybe its just me, but the keys in the readme were all I needed
and there is no radar

Hi again folks!
As I understand for radar!
It was use to detect the other player.
When you hearing the radar beep or ping or what ever.
You can starting to shoot the other player.
But of course make sure that your bullet was hit them.
Otherwise you have to run a way as fast as possible.
Because they willl fight you back also.
I hope you could understand my explanation.
By the way for the readme stuff still did not complete yet.
Because it was still a beta one.
The game itself still have lots of bug though.
But one thing that I'm quite impress, the developer of the game quite active.
He was fixing a bug day by day.
That's why it was so great for blind community gamers.

Best!

oh btw if you're playing offline, there is no player ping sound, so targeting becomes that much funner and harder :P
and shatup, funner is a word! haha

Hi again!
Yes playing as a single mode it was quite hard sometimes cause it was no radar detecting.
It's true it was fun.
Like I said the developer of this game quite active.
So right now it was become a beta 3 already.
So for the person who got a game already.
You can get a beta 3 at http://dragonapps.org/trtr_patches/patch3.exe
And for the person who was come across might be interest.
You can get a game at http://dragonapps.org/trtr.exe
For a full game of course it was including the release bug fixing as well.
Check it out.
It was fun.
